Pseudo Effect

Square Peg adds a pseudo effect to the generated shape layer with three key sections.

Sizing

🎚️ Width

This slider adjusts the width of the shape.

🎚️ Height

This slider adjusts the height of the shape.

📋 Anchor Point

This dropdown set's the anchor point for the shape.

Note: this is a shape contents anchor point independent from the shape layer's transform anchor point. This allows the shape to grow and shrink from different points without squashing or stretching the corner curvature.

Corners

Sets whether all four corners are adjusted together or separately.

🎚️ All Radii

If Link Corners is checked this slider set's the radius for all corners at once.

🎚️ All Curvature

If Link Corners is checked this slider set's the curvature for all corners at once.

Note: Curvature allows you to bend the corners from Square, to Squircled, to Rounded, to Bevelled, to Inverted and even notched.

🎚️ Individual Corner Radius & Curvature

The following eight sliders control their named corners's radius and curvature independantly from each other.

✔️ Unlock Corners

As standard, corner radius isn't allowed to expand beyond half of the shortest side's length. This is to avoid corners overlapping each other and causing isses, and to match the range of radii available when corners are linked.

When this is checked, corner radius is allowed to expand beyond that restriction to create even more unique shapes.

Note: this can cause some unexpected results due to the limited capabilities of After Effects expressions and slider controls.

If you find a corner is not behaving as expected, it is likely due to it's neighboring corners blocking it's path.

Sliders can expand their values beyond that of the radius limit so the value on the slider might not represent the value of the corner's radius.

Colors

✔️ Use FX Colors

Set's whether the shape layer will use the color pickers below for it's fill or stroke, or uses the standard shape layer fill and stroke properties.

Check this if you want to save specific colors with your preset.

✔️ Enable Fill

If Use FX Colors is checked this turns the fill on / off.

Note: due to limitations with expressions, this does not enable/disable the fill property, but instead toggles the fill opacity between 0 & 100.

💧 Fill Color

If Use FX Colors is check this color picker sets the fill color.

✔️ Enable Stroke

If Use FX Colors is checked this turns the stroke on / off.

Note: due to limitations with expressions, this does not enable/disable the stroke property, but instead toggles the stroke opacity between 0 & 100.

💧 Stroke Color

If Use FX Colors is check this color picker sets the stroke color.

🎚️ Stroke Width

If Use FX Colors is check this slider sets the stroke width.
